Three separate robberies believed to be the work of three different suspects kept the Turlock Police Department busy over the last few days.
None of the victims were injured during the confrontations.
The first robbery was reported at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The female victim was sitting in her car in a parking lot at 1601 Lander Ave., counting her money.
The woman said she saw a black man approaching and then pass by. The suspect doubled back and jumped into her passenger seat and pressed an unknown object into the woman’s side, said Turlock Police Lt. Ron Reid.
The suspect demanded the money and her rings. She had difficulty getting the rings off and after threatening her, the man took her purse and cash and fled, Reid said.
The woman told police she did not see a weapon, but was in fear for her safety.
The suspect was described as a black male adult in his 40s, about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a dirty white T-shirt, blue pants, and a black baseball cap.
The second robbery was reported hours later, around 6 p.m. Friday at the corner of N. Tully Road and W. Canal Drive.
A fruit vendor at the intersection told police he was approached by a man who wanted to trade a car stereo for some fruit, Reid said.
The vendor said no and then the man overpowered him and took his cash.
The suspect was described as a black male adult in his 20s, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a black, long-sleeve shirt.
The third robbery happened at the Wal-Mart at 2111 Fulkerth Rd. around noon Sunday.
According to the police report, the suspect purchased several items, deposited them in his vehicle, and then returned to the store with empty bags and receipt in hand.
The suspect proceeded to fill the bag up with the same items and attempted to leave the store, Reid said.
The entire scene was witnessed by store security and they detained the suspect before he could leave the store.
During his detainment the suspect became combative and hostile, according to the store security.
At one point he grabbed a cart and pushed his way out of the store. He dumped the purloined items into his car and took off. His clean getaway was slightly marred when he crashed into a parked Dodge van before reaching the open road.
The suspect was described as a white male adult with long brown hair in a pony tail and a goatee. He has a small mole on the right side of his face. He was last seen driving a grey Buick westbound on Fulkerth Road.
