Police are looking for the two men who beat and robbed a 39-year-old man and kept him locked in the trunk of his car for hours early Saturday.
The Turlock Police Department has identified one of the suspects as Nilsson David, 26. He is described as a white man, standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 205 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Detective Jason Tosta said David may have tried to change his appearance by shaving off his hair and goatee. David also has a scar that starts at the outside of his left eyebrow and runs straight down to his jaw. David is considered dangerous.
The second suspect is described as a white male adult about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and 200 pounds.
The victim of the beating and kidnapping was air-lifted to Doctors Medical Center for what appeared to be severe trauma. However, Turlock Police Investigations’ Sgt. Russell Holeman said the injuries looked worse than they actually were and that the victim was released from the hospital late Saturday.
The victim’s ordeal began sometime late Friday night or early Saturday morning when he was lured over to a house by an acquaintance. Upon his arrival, he was immediately attacked by the two men, robbed and thrown into the trunk of his car, Tosta said. The suspects drove the victim around for a few hours, occasionally making stops.
Shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday, the police department received their first call from the man, who was using his cell phone from inside the trunk. The victim would call the police every time he heard music coming from the radio and when it was turned down, he would hang up his phone, Tosta said.
The suspects eventually let the victim go, but threatened him that they would kill him if he told anyone, Tosta said. The victim was able to drive himself back to his residence and was found unresponsive in the driver’s seat of his car in his driveway.
David is on parole and is wanted by the Turlock Police Department on a variety of charges, including kidnapping and robbery.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of David or the identity of the second suspect is asked to contact Detective Jason Tosta at 664-7324 or Crime Stoppers at 521-4636. Tipsters can also text tips to CRIMES (274637) by typing "Tip704" plus the message. Tipsters are eligible for a cash reward.
