A delivery truck driver making his rounds at the Dairyland market in Hilmar was robbed at gunpoint.
The robbery happened just after 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 8000 block of Lander Avenue.
When the driver got out of his truck he was approached by a bald white man, in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a light blue muscle shirt, and grey shorts, brandishing an unknown caliber handgun, said Merced County Sheriff Deputy Tom MacKenzie.
The suspect took the driver’s cash before taking off on foot. He was last seen running to a late 1990s model white Ford Taurus, parked a few blocks away. He jumped into the passenger side of the vehicle and it sped off.
No one was hurt during the incident and the Merced County Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information to please contact them at 385-7472.
