Search warrants served in Delhi

Six people were arrested Tuesday in Delhi as part of an ongoing burglary investigation by the Merced County Sheriff’s Department.
At 7 a.m. Tuesday sheriff’s detectives started serving search warrants in the Delhi area, looking for stolen property.
The stolen property belonged to a Delhi resident who was burglarized while in the process of moving into a new home. The burglary occurred in the middle of the night while the owner was in the Bay Area, and when he returned the next day, he found that his residence had been broken into, said sheriff’s spokesman Deputy Tom MacKenzie.
Detectives served the warrants at the following locations and arrested the following individuals: 10000 block of N. Cortez, Ty Tucker, 44 of Delhi; 15000 block of El Capitan Road, Carlos Carranza, 43, of Delhi; 16000 block of North Avenue, Steven Mark, 47, of Delhi; 1000 block of English Avenue, Gloria Aguilar, 34, of Turlock; Andy Avila, 30, and Juan Guzman, 35, both of Delhi also were charged in the crime, MacKenzie said.
Detectives recovered stolen property consisting of tools, camping equipment, and DVDs. The total value of the property recovered was estimated at just above $4,000. Detectives also seized methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana. The investigation is still ongoing and all suspects arrested remain in jail on charges of possession of stolen property.
