An argument between a father and his son took a violent turn when the father fired a gun in the general direction of his son, the Turlock Police Department reported.

No injuries were reported in the altercation, but the father did end up in custody.

Shortly before noon on March 14, Emory Fitzpatrick, 64, was arguing with his adult son outside a home in the 300 block of Lane Street. It’s unknown what the two men were arguing about, but at some point Fitzpatrick got angry enough to pull out a gun.

According to the police report, Fitzpatrick fired one shot in the direction of his son.

Police were summoned to the scene and took Fitzpatrick into custody on multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
