A domestic disturbance at a Turlock home led to a man being arrested for a weapons violation, after he was shocked with a Taser by a Turlock Police officer.
Around 2 a.m. Tuesday the Turlock Police Department received a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1200 block of Magic Sands Way. The victim told police dispatch the suspect, later identified as Mark Colvard, 51, was intoxicated and had armed himself with a loaded rifle during an argument.
The victim was able to leave the area unharmed, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
Colvard came out of the home without the rifle. Colvard allegedly kept pulling away from the officers trying to take him into custody and refused to listen to the officer’s orders. Officers used a Taser on Colvard and were able to take him into custody.
He was arrested for being a felon in possession of a weapon and resisting arrest.
