Two people were injured early Saturday morning when gunfire erupted outside the Denny’s restaurant in Turlock.
The shooting left a 19-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and a 33-year-old man had a gunshot wound to his chest. Both victims were in stable condition.
The shooter was able to flee the area and remains at large.
It is suspected the shooting was gang-related said Turlock Police Sgt. Nino Amifar.
The incident happened about 4:15 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of the Denny’s at 1991 Lander Ave.
According to the police report, the two groups had been inside eating and when they were leaving a verbal argument started in the parking lot.
The dispute escalated into a physical fight and then one man pulled out a gun and started shooting, Amifar said.
The shooter left with two other men in a silver vehicle and were last seen headed north on Highway 99. No other suspect information was available.
