An ongoing investigation by the Turlock Narcotics Enforcement Team led to the seizure of multiple pounds of marijuana and the arrest of two people.
The arrests were made just before 1 a.m. July 2 in the 2400 block of Yale Court. TNET stopped a vehicle leaving the area that they believed was being used to transport marijuana, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.
A K-9 unit from the Ceres Police Department was called in to assist with the investigation and it wasn’t long before eight pounds of marijuana was located in the vehicle.
The follow-up investigation led to a search warrant being issued for a home on Yale Court. At the home, investigators found another two to three pounds of marijuana, Lewis said.
Four vehicles were also seized by TNET.
Arrested were: Juan Gonzalez, 24, of Turlock and Louise Ashman, 19, of Turlock. Both were charged with transportation of marijuana and conspiracy, Lewis said.
