Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and for The Flowery owner Linda Shaffer, nothing brings her more joy than providing flowers to the community of Turlock on special days.

“The feelings, the smiles and the memories that come from flowers — that’s such a neat thing to see,” said Shaffer.

For 12 years, The Flowery has helped memories bloom since opening inside of The Tower Health & Wellness Center. It was Shaffer’s affinity for flowers that inspired her to open the floral boutique.

“I’ve always loved being around them,” she said. “The fragrance, the colors, the emotions they bring to people. It’s usually a very happy time.”

As a full-service flower shop, The Flowery designs floral arrangements for events like weddings,

birthdays and anniversaries, as well as individual arrangements for special moments such as holidays and formal events. Shaffer takes pride in making her clients’ floral dreams come to life, meeting individually with each customer to see what color theme and feeling they would like to capture at their event. She even does online consultations for those who are unable to come into the shop, and has done so on multiple occasions for those serving overseas.

The style those who shop at The Flowery can expect to receive in their flowers is “unique,” Shaffer said.

“It’s a creative style that people are drawn to,” she said. “We do trendy, unique, romantic, garden and whimsical styles through our arrangements.”

Throughout The Flowery’s 12 years serving Turlock, the clients have continued to let Shaffer know that the work she puts into each arrangement is well worth it.

“It’s been great,” said Shaffer. “Our customers, they’re the ones who set us apart from the other shops. They keep coming back, and always let us know how they’ve enjoyed their flowers.”
