County bus agency to hold public meeting about fare increases

The Stanislaus County Public Works Transit Division, administrators for the county’s intercity bus system, Stanislaus Regional Transit or StaRT, will be holding a series of public information meetings to discuss a proposed fare increase to be effective Aug. 1.

The purpose of the meetings is to provide county residents with information about proposed fare changes and reasons for the fare increase.  Meetings will be held at the following locations, dates and times.

·         March 22: 2:30 p.m. -  4:30 p.m. - Riverbank City Hall, City Council Chambers, 6707 3rd St., Riverbank

                                                     

·         March 23 - 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Patterson City Hall, City Council Chambers, Plaza 1, Patterson

·         March 29 - 2:30 p.m. -  4:30 p.m. - Turlock City Hall, Yosemite Room (2nd Floor), 156 S. Broadway, Turlock

·         March 31 - 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. - City/County Bldg., 1010 10th St., Suite 4601, Modesto

 

For more information, residents can call the StaRT Customer Comment Line at 1-800-688-1884 or they can leave a comment on the StaRT web site, www.srt.org, and staff will get back to them. The proposed fares are posted on the StaRT website.

The County Board of Supervisors will hold a Public Hearing at 9:10 a.m. on May 10 in the Board Chambers at 1010 10th St., in Modesto to consider the proposed fare increases.
