The Turlock Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire that severely damaged a residence Monday evening.

The fire was reported shortly around 5 p.m. Monday at a home in the 2300 block of Drew Avenue.

No injuries were reported from the blaze, though it was initially reported that some of the residents were still in the home when firefighters first arrived. Firefighters conducted multiple thorough searches of the home and found that everyone had already gotten out safely, according to the fire department.

The first firefighters to arrive at the scene found the front entrance of the residence fully engulfed in flames.

“While the main body of the fire was being extinguished, crews were operating hose lines for exposure protection of neighboring homes,” said Turlock Fire Chief Robert Talloni.

The aggressive attack helped the firefighters quickly bring the fire under control, but the home still sustained significant damage from the fire.

Turlock Rural Fire provided mutual aid coverage throughout the city during the incident.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the fire is asked to contact Turlock Fire Investigator Capt. Jason Bernard at 668-5580.
