Businesses, nonprofit organizations and families donned purple and walked around Hilmar High's track on Saturday in an effort to raise awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society as part of Hilmar's Relay for Life event.

Sixteen teams and 232 participants raised $84,001 through Saturday's Relay at Hilmar High. The Bosom Buddies team raised the most money for Hilmar at $22,455, followed by Hilmar Cheese Company at $18,540 and Larry's Cowboys at $13,000. Shirley Coelho was the participant with the most donations at $8,550.
