Now all those people who say “I’ll flip burgers if it comes down to it,” can put their money where their mouth is. McDonald’s is hiring 50,000 new full and part-time people during a national hiring event on April 19.

Locally, job seekers can begin applying now at the Monte Vista, West Main and the Wal Mart McDonald’s locations.

“From Sacramento to Fresno, McDonald’s will be hiring 2,000 people,” said McDonald’s spokesperson Jake Mossawir. “McDonald’s is experiencing growth, and combined with summer time business, McDonald’s needs the new employees to help support growth.”

Last year McDonald’s had a similar hiring event for 13,000 people; 65,000 people applied for those positions. McDonald’s said it will spend $518 million on its April 19 hiring, which averages out to $10,630.

Currently, McDonald’s has 14,000 restaurants and 650,000 employees.
