Far too often senior citizens must be concerned with their safety both physically, emotionally and financially. Seniors sometimes need assistance when it comes to navigating confusing medical solutions and detecting would be fraud or identity theft.

Thanks to a local Realtor, help will soon be on the way.

Susan Baudler of Castle Real Estate is hosting a Senior Seminar from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 11 at the Holiday Inn Express, 3001 Hotel Dr., in Turlock.  The seminar will feature speakers on crime prevention, self defense, Medicare solutions, reverse mortgages and home warranties.

“A lot of senior citizens are a little afraid and can be easy targets for someone to take advantage of them,” said Baudler. “With the slant of security and crime prevention, this seminar will help them to be more aware of things and give them a place to find information they might not otherwise know where to get.”

This seminar is the first of what Baudler hopes to be many more to come. She decided to put on this seminar after dealing with similar issues and concerns with her own parents, realizing that seniors are a very vulnerable group in today’s world.

In addition to the helpful words and advice of the many guest speakers, every attendee will receive a folder with extra information about the speakers themselves and the topics they cover.

“I want them to be able to take it home and use that as a resource for themselves,” said Baudler.
