As the temperature rises, Turlock families are looking for a way to keep cool this summer. Even though the City’s longtime source of summer fun and aquatic learning Columbia Pool remains closed for much-needed renovations, there are still places to get your splash on in Turlock.

Turlock has two water spray parks — at Broadway Park, 501 N. Broadway and Columbia Park, 600 Columbia St. The spray parks are open from noon to 7 p.m. daily through Sept. 5. The spray parks are free and open to the public. A mobile aquatic chair is available upon request. Please call (209) 668-5594 in advance to make arrangements for use.

Public recreation swim is open from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday starting June 13 and running through July (except July 4) at the Pitman High School Pool, Cost is $3 for adults and $1 for children. Adult supervision is required for children under age 8. The Turlock Irrigation District is helping local families stay cool — and out of dangerous canals — this summer with a pool pass program. TID customers can obtain a pool pass, which covers the entrance fee into participating pools, from the Turlock and Ceres offices and at various sponsored community events.
