Taking care of your teeth is essential for a healthy smile, but dentist appointments are often a luxury reserved for those who can afford dental care.

Turlock Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics is aiming to make dental care more accessible for the community by hosting a free children’s dental care event. Appropriately timed as February is Children’s Dental Health month, the “Give Kids a Smile” event features free cleanings, exams and dental treatments this Saturday. The office aims to serve as many children as possible.

“We are taking appointments ahead of time and depending upon the turn out, we will be able to take walk-ins,” said Sonia Castellanos, benefits coordinator for Turlock Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics.

Dentist Jasleen Kaur opened her Turlock office in December. She is striving to serve local children in need and give back to the community by continuing the event from her previous practice.

“We really like to give back to the community and this is something that the dentists wanted to do,” said Castellanos.

The free dental event will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Turlock Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics office located at 2808 W. Monte Vista Ave. in the Target shopping center.
