The truck driver who was killed in a fiery pile-up on Highway 99 outside of Turlock has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner’s office identified the man as Gregory Wayne Davis, 50, of Redding. Davis’ identification was confirmed Monday with dental records.

Davis was killed on July 7 when his semi truck crashed into the back of another semi truck, which in turn struck a third semi.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Davis’ cab was crushed about 15 feet into the interior and was quickly engulfed in flames.
