The Turlock Community Theatre is going to be feeling the blues come March 5 when Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Elvin Bishop and Blues Music Award winner Tommy Castro and his band The Painkillers take the stage.
Bishop’s latest release is the Grammy-nominated “Can’t Even Do Wrong Right,” for which he received a Living Blues Award for Best Blues Album Of 2014. He also won three 2014 Blues Music Awards: Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year (for the title track) and The Elvin Bishop Band took the award for Band Of The Year. And on May 4, Elvin Bishop will be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis, Tennessee.
Tommy Castro and The Painkillers’ new album is “Method To My Madness,” the critically acclaimed 15th album of Castro’s four-decade career. A six-time Blues Music Award winner, Castro has played thousands of shows to hundreds of thousands of fans, packing seats and dance floors. Hailing from the San Francisco area, Castro, along with his band, The Painkillers (featuring bassist Randy McDonald, keyboardist Michael Emerson and drummer Bowen Brown),just released a brand new video from “Method To My Madness” for the track “Common Ground,” which espouses the message that political differences aside, we all want the same thing.
