The Stanislaus County Fair is preparing itself to witness true legends.

Kool & The Gang are coming to the Stanislaus County Fair July 14 and the iconic group will be performing on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage at 8:30 p.m. The concert will be hosted by 97.7 & 98.3 KWIN and is free with the price of Fair admission.

“Most celebrations and festivals we attend play a Kool & The Gang song – in fact, we hear them so much that we seem to almost lose appreciation for such iconic music,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “Being in the presence of a band who is considered one of “the greats” will allow us to show tribute and easily treasure what they have gifted us over the years.”

Kool & The Gang has a theme they have always stood by: music is the message. And with that deep love for music, they have been able to make a huge impact in the music world. Their fierce horn arrangements and signature sound yields a unique and flavorful blend of jazz, soul and funk. Kool & the Gang has sold over 70 million albums worldwide and influenced the music of three generations. Thanks to songs like “Celebration,” “Cherish,” “Jungle Boogie,” “Summer Madness,” “Open Sesame,” and “Ladies Night,” they have earned two Grammy Awards, seven Music Awards, 25 top 10 R&B hits, nine top 10 Pop hits, as well as 31 gold and platinum albums. Kool and The Gang continues to perform to packed audiences of new and old fans around the world; and has been doing so for the past 45 years – longer than any R&B group in history. Their bulletproof funk as well as tough, jazzy arrangements have not only made them the most sampled band of all time, but also one of the most impactful.

Other Variety Free Stage acts booked for this year’s Fair include: Three-time Grammy-nominated member of the Grand Ole Opry Trace Adkins on July 16, hard rock classic Blue Öyster Cult on July 17, high-energy Lifehouse on July 18, one of the first ever female rap crews Salt-N-Pepa on July 19, country music star Eastin Corbin on July 20 and ‘70s rock icons Grand Funk Railroad on July 21.

The 2018 Stanislaus County Fair opens July 13 for a 10-day run. Discounted Fair admission tickets, unlimited ride wristbands, and the Fair season pass will be on sale beginning April 28. Corporate ticket sales will also be available to purchase at a highly discounted rate. Visit the Fair’s website for upcoming ticket sale information at www.stancofair.com.
