Rising pop singer to perform at Stanislaus County Fair

 The Stanislaus County Fair will welcome pop singer Rachel Platten to the stage on the opening night of the fair’s 10-day run.

Platten, the voice behind the hit “Fight Song” will perform at 8:30 p.m. July 8 on the Bud Light Variety Free Stage. The concert is free with the price of Fair admission.

            “Rachel Platten is an up and coming sensation with music that connects the audience through her inspirational messages,” said Adrenna Alkhas, spokesperson for the Stanislaus County Fair. “She will bring a whole new performance dynamic that will captivate the audience.”

Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” has connected not only with music fans, but also major record companies. Rachel’s label debut, “Wildfire,” was released January 1 and .the singer is touring the world, performing on countless television shows and being played on radio stations coast to coast. Her recent hit, “Fight Song” has topped  iTunes and radio charts, and has more than 2 million downloads in the U.S. alone.

“I’m in love with the idea of connecting people,” said Platten. “Bringing people together is to me, the most important thing we can do in this life. I feel like that’s my mission with my music. I think that’s why I’m getting this chance right now.”
