Over the past 12 years comedian Mike Birbiglia has developed a one-of-a-kind storytelling style in the world of comedy.
His 2008 off-Broadway show "Sleepwalk With Me" — which was adapted to film in 2012 — was a mix between a one-man show and stand-up comedy. Birbiglia won the Lucille Lortel award in 2011 for Outstanding Solo Show in his second off-Broadway production, "My Girlfriend's Boyfriend."
Time Magazine called Birbiglia "master of the personal, embarrassing tale" and The New York Times describes him as a "supremely enjoyable monologist."
This season, the award-winning comedian, actor, and filmmaker returns to the Turlock Community Theatre stage with more painfully awkward stories in his all-new show about jokes, and how they can get you in trouble. In this show, Birbiglia gets arrested in New Jersey, screamed at by a famous director, heckled by Statler and Waldorf, and attacked by zombie rodents.
Birbiglia will perform at TCT at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 9. Tickets range in price from $29-$39 and can be purchased at turlocktheatre.org or by calling 668-1169.
