The Center for Urban Performance and Service and Westside Ministries will take a journey to Turlock Christmases past with their performance of “Old Tyme School Christmas,” an original CUPS production. Over 200 dancers, actors and singers are involved in the Christmas production, which is set to a backdrop of downtown Turlock, complete with a bakery sign that looks very familiar.

The group will dance to a variety of classics including Frank Sinatra’s “Santa Clause is Coming to Town,” and “Joy to the World.” The production will also include new songs recorded by Westside Ministries and CUPS, and an original script. The singing Christmas tree is back again with an ensemble of more than 40 children.

“Old Tyme School Christmas” is a family-friendly “Broadway” style show with a Christmas message. The play will be free of charge and runs at both 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Turlock Community Theater (inside of the TUSD building) on 1574 East Canal Dr. There will be a silent auction before both showings to support Community Cultivators 4-H Club. The event is free, but an offering will be taken to defer the cost of production.
