Playhouse Merced’s “Season Preview Party and Show” will be presented on the Playhouse Merced Mainstage, at 7:30 p.m. April 6.

At the "Season Preview,” fully rehearsed, produced and costumed musical numbers and scenes from next season’s shows will be performed on the Playhouse stage, with artistic director Rob Hypes acting as master of ceremonies. 

In addition, drinks, desserts and chances to win prizes will be part of the fun for those in attendance.

While shows still remain in the current season, staff at Playhouse Merced has been busy finalizing the 2013-2104 season.  The season, to begin later in 2013, will mark the 20th anniversary of Playhouse Merced in its current downtown location, and will contain musicals, comedies and dramas.  
“It’s fun to put together a new season,” said Hypes, “and it is also fun to hear people try to guess what we might be doing.” 

The evening event will begin with pre-show drinks from an open bar, with a chance to win prizes including an iPad mini.  Desserts and coffee will be available at intermission.

 Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets prices are $30 per person.  Purchase tickets by calling 725-8587, or visiting the box office at 452 West Main in downtown Merced, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
