A group of college students, a creepy cabin in a secluded forest, and an ancient Book of the Dead; what could possibly go wrong?  Playhouse Merced is presenting “Evil Dead: the Musical,” a blood-soaked, toe-tapping, demon-infested good time all wrapped up in a hilariously horrifying theatrical experience.  Based on the cult classic film and its sequels, “Evil Dead: the Musical” combines the comedy, terror, and gore from the movies with a catchy musical score and a Splatter Zone for those who want an immersive experience.

“Evil Dead: the Musical” has been entertaining audiences around the world for more than a decade, and has gathered a cult following among both fans of the movie and those who just enjoy a unique entertainment experience.  Pure comedy from start to finish, “Evil Dead: the Musical” features songs like “All the Men in My Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian Demons” and “Do the Necronomicon.”  Chainsaws will roar, demons will spout bad jokes while imprisoned in the basement, and moose heads will get possessed in this insane, funny, and bloody production.

“Evil Dead: the Musical” will have a Thursday opening on October 12th, and will run for three weekends.  There will also be a special final performance on October 31st in celebration of Halloween.  For more information on tickets and available seats, go to www.playhousemerced.com or call (209) 725-8587.  Tickets are $22 for adults with $10 tickets available for students with a valid ID.  This is not a show for children, and has been rated M for Mature due to language, violence, and adult content.
