YES Kidettes will present Disney’s “Winnie the Pooh, Kidettes” at the Downey High School Auditorium in Modesto at 7 p.m. Nov. 10. Two additional matinee performances are scheduled for 3 p.m. Nov. 11 and 12. Tickets are $10 and are now on sale at YESCompany.org or www.ShowTix4U.com. The show isn’t recommended for infants under the age of two.

Story tellers will welcome guests to the Hundred Acre Wood, where Winnie the Pooh is once again in search of honey. Along the way, he meets his pals, Tigger, Piglet, Rabbit and Owl, but soon discovers that Christopher Robin has been captured by the mysterious Backson. As they prepare for a rescue operation, the animals learn about teamwork, friendship and, of course, sharing snacks.

In this YES Kidettes production, 70 first through fifth grade students from throughout Stanislaus County will perform this classic story. Learning first-hand the thrill and enchantment of performing, the YES Kidettes are offered a broad educational experience, gaining insights from YES Mentors – YES Company Alumni who return to volunteer as rehearsal and backstage assistants.

Now in its 26th season, well over 190,000 community members have attended a YES Company performance since the Company’s first summer production in 1992.  YES Company, through all its strands, brings students from diverse backgrounds together and provides positive, productive after-school, weekend and summer activities.
