The family of Brooks J. Rushing announces his passing on December 30, 2016 with his family by his side.  Brooks was born in Fortuna, CA to Hiram and Mae Rushing on October 12, 1935. 

His parents; brother and three sisters preceded him in death.  Brooks is survived by his wife Arlene Rushing; sons Todd Rushing and Jim Rushing; grandchildren Scott Rushing and Kacie Rushing.

He graduated from Livingston High School and earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees from Fresno State University.  

While teaching at Chatom School in Turlock he helped some of the students who had a brief T.V. program that was televised in the Chatom area.  Brooks and students buried time capsules at both Chatom and Gustine schools.

He was in California National Guard and belonged to the Y.M.I., Modesto Model A’s and Portuguese Fraternal Organization along with other organizations.  Brooks enjoyed his Belgium draft horses which included moving hay, and showing some at the Stanislaus County Fair.

Rosary will be held at Allen Mortuary at 7:00p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017.  Mass will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11:00a.m. with burial to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com
