Memorial services for Cathryn Bauer, 39, will be held at 11 a.m. July 24 at Turlock Funeral Home. Cathryn Bauer (Tipper to her family and friends), a loving wife, daughter, devoted aunt, and friend to all who knew her, died at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock Saturday evening.
She attended school in Morgan Hill, Calif. and Willamina, Ore. and obtained her Master of Science degree from Chico State University with her soon to be husband, Scott Bauer. Cathy loved to travel, the highlight being their trip to Ireland last summer. To Cathy “FUN” was to do home projects including completely remodeling their mountain retreat. Cathy was employed by UC Davis Poultry Pathology Laboratory in Turlock and had a passion for teaching microbiology at Modesto Junior College. Cathy, who was an avid cyclist, gardener, and dancer, was diagnosed with cancer in March. Cathy lost her battle while surrounded by friends and family.
She is survived by her husband, Scott Bauer; mother, Betty Whitmore; sisters, Jayne (Jim) Xavier, Janeen Whitmore, Carol (Joel) Arthur, Karen (Dan) Coonen and Kristin (Phil) Keller; and 10 nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, R. Bruce Whitmore; and infant brother.
