Chris Anderson, 47, was born in Turlock to Carl Lawrence “Dux” Anderson and Linda Anderson. He died at home in Chicago Park, Calif. on Dec. 3, under the care of Hospice of the Sierra Nevada, after treatment for cancer was discontinued.
He attended Turlock schools and graduated from Turlock High in 1980. After attending Modesto Junior College, he went on to Chico State University and received his bachelor of science and master of computer science degrees. After eight years at Lawrence Livermore Lab, he went to work for other computer firms, and moved to the Grass Valley area in 2000.
Chris is survived by his wife of 23 years, Sheri Anderson; mother, Linda Posegate of Turlock; sister, Elise Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.; Beth Webster, of Stockholm, Sweden and Aileen Hill of Denair; nephews, Jacob Hill and Patrick Webster; nieces, Claire and Laura Webster; and cousins and aunts and uncles, and many friends who mourn his loss.
His father preceded him in death in 1991.
A celebration of his life will be observed at 1 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2010 in Nevada City at the Veterans Memorial Building, 415 N. Pine St.
