Donald Sheridan, 79, of Groveland, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father at home with his family by his side. Don was born in Stockton to Alice and Lloyd Sheridan. He played football at St. Mary’s High School in 1950, the year they won the championship. He was frozen in the California National Guard, training young recruits in Stockton during the Korean Conflict. Don did a seven-year stint as a dispatcher for the CHP and then owned a 7-Eleven store in Modesto for 20 years before moving to Groveland. He was also a partner in Groveland Travel. He was a charter member of the Modesto East Rotary Club and a member of the Sonora Elks.

Don is survived by his wife of 41 years, Judy; brother, Lloyd Sheridan of Stockton; son, Scott (Kathy) Sheridan of Galt; daughters, Diane Mead of Stockton, Tina Mourer of Modesto and Rhonda (Ron) Johnson of Modesto; grandchildren, Doug Mead (Samantha), Dan Mead, Kayla Sheridan, Dustin Mead (Monique), Kevin Mourer (Samantha) and Chris Mourer (Rachel); great grandchildren, Chloe Mead, Katie Mourer, Tyler and Travis Mead, and Bradley and Jacob Mourer. 

Don was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Beulah; daughter, Donna Jean; and sisters, Patsy Plaza and Lois Northwang.

Memorials may be considered for American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Sierra. Memorial Service plans are pending at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Big Oak Flat.
