Don Overland, 83, of Castroville, CA, passed away at his home after an extended illness. Don was born in Yakima, WA to Nels and Agnes (Sveen) Overland. He attended schools in Washington including Seattle Pacific College in Seattle before joining the Navy. In 1951 Don married the love of his life, Della “Jeanne” Edgerton in Cupertino, CA. He served 9 years in the Navy and 12 years in the Air Force. After completing 20 years in the military he retired from the Air Force and moved to California. He worked 14 years at the Turlock Post Office. Don and Jeanne belonged to the Turlock Free Methodist Church. After living 40 years in Turlock, they moved to the Monterey Coast.

Don is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne Overland of Castroville, daughter Joni (Derrek) Keck of Salinas, three grandchildren: Erica, Brandon, and Shayla Keck, a sister Connie Wachsmith of Yakima, WA and brother Norman Overland of Woodinville, WA. He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.

Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, Sept. 19th from 4 – 7 pm. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on Thursday, Sept. 20th, 11 am.
