Donna Ray Mahler, February 19, 1930 – January 13, 2017 beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away peacefully after a long illness at the age of 85 in Sonora, CA with her children at her side. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar (Ed) of 35 years. She is survived by her sister, Dorice (Herbert) Sheldon, sister, Lynn (Ernest) Wheeler and brother Lester Ross (Caren), daughter Carol Mahler, sons John Mahler, Glen Mahler and Mark Mahler. Her Grandsons are: Ryan Mahler, Kevin Mahler, Steffen Mahler, Edgar (Eddie) Mahler and Justin Vincent. Her granddaughters are Health Quintero-Refuerzo and Elizabeth Mahler. Her Great Grandchildren are: Jaona Reyes, Gabriel Quintero, Genesis Quintero, Barrette Vincent, Olivia Mahler, Trevor Mahler and Derek Mahler. 

 Donna Ray Ross was born to Raymond and Elizabeth Ross in Walla Walla, Washington. She was introduced to Edgar (Ed) Mahler by a mutual friend in 1946. They were married in the Los Angeles, CA January 23, 1948. In 1951, Donna and Ed moved to Phoenix, AZ where she overcame Polio Disease while in loving care of her Mother and husband. Donna was the full-time homemaker and General Manager for their thriving Turlock, CA commercial refrigeration service business for 25 years.

Donna and Ed were active members of the Turlock Steppin Pards and previous Past Co-Presidents. In 1975 she formed Donna’s Alteration and Custom Taylor Shop in Modesto, CA. She sold her business in 1985. During this period, Donna loved to travel throughout the Western U.S.to enjoy nature and visit family and friends in her RV’s.

Donna was a loving, beautiful, kind and dedicated mother, wife, mentor and friend to many. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will always be with us. Our family was truly blessed by our mother and father. We will continue our life’s journey with these blessings and share them with our children.

Private Burial Services at sea will be announced to family and friends at a day and time to be announced. The family asks that donations made in Donna Mahler’s name as a Memorial Donation to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
