Elton Euclid Sawyer died Sunday, October 14th one day after his 96th birthday, peacefully at home. He was born to Curtis and Edna Sawyer in Norfolk, Virginia and led a full, active and zestful life until the very end. Elton was a police officer for the City of Los Angeles for 26 years. Upon retirement from LAPD, Elton and his wife Ulla Vivan (Vickie) had the opportunity to travel the high seas as staff for many cruise lines.  Vickie entertained passengers with singing and arts and crafts while Elton repaired luggage and danced with the widows.  They cruised throughout the world for 18 years. Most recently, Elton and Vickie lived in Turlock, CA as residents of Covenant Village.

Elton is survived by his dear wife of 70 years, Vickie and three sons; Tom (Cathi), Greg and Dan (Janet), three grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  He also leaves his two sisters, Alva Peters and Marilyn Brydolf.

His humor and wit will be greatly missed by all.
