Esperanza Cortez, 83, of Livingston, died Saturday at Emanuel Medical Center. A mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1200 Lyons St. in Turlock.
Esperanza was born Aug. 31, 1926 in La Palma, Michoacan, Mexico. She was a homemaker for 53 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock.
She is survived by her sons, Adrian Cortez of Livingston, Roberto Cortez of Delhi, Benjamin Cortez of Livingston and Javier Cortez of Turlock; daughters, Eva Cortez of Turlock, Celia Cortez of Delhi, Guadalupe Cortez of Mexico, Rosa Cortez of Livingston and Silvia Cortez of Livingston; brother, Manuel Sierra of Mexico; sisters, Elena Sierra of Mexico, Elisa Sierra of Mexico and Anita Sierra of Mexico; 45 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services are under the direction of Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Service.
