Visitation for George Henri, 81, of Turlock, will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 17 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Services, 286 West Main St., Turlock. Services will be at 11 a.m. on Sept. 18 at the same location. George passed away on Sept. 14, 2009, at his residence in Turlock.
He was a machinist for Banquet Foods for 30 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 88 of Turlock, V.F.W Post 5059 of Turlock and a U.S. Merchant Marine combat veteran. He loved to farm, grow vegetables, raise animals and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, George A. Henri of Merced and Ron J. Henri of Merced; daughter, Janice L. Redfield of Winton; brothers, Donald L. Cramer of Naples, Fla. and Felix W. Henry of Denton, Texas; sisters, Phyllis Fuorole and her husband, Frank, of Charlestown, RI and Annie Irons and her husband, Robert, of North Scituate, RI; nine grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret J. Henri; daughter, JoAnn Henri; grandson, Ryan Henri; and granddaughter, Andrea Henri.
