On Friday, January 20, 2017, Hedy received her angel wings and is now in the loving arms of God in Heaven.

She was born and raised in Switzerland and immigrated to the United States in 1947, after she and Joe were married, passing through Ellis Island.

She was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Livingston and she was also a member of the San Joaquin Valley Swiss Club in Ripon.

She and her husband, Joe had one of the last small family dairies in the Livingston area. 

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother.

She was pre-deceased by her husband Joe in February, 2001 and two brothers.

She is survived by her six children: Joseph of Oxnard, Hedy Smith of Modesto, Jack (Debi) of Livingston, Peter (Cathy) of Corona, Liz Cliburn (Greg) of Modesto and Kathy Mota (Jesse) of Livingston.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild and one on the way.

Visitation will begin at 4pm followed by a recitation of the Rosary at 6pm on Thursday, January 26 at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway in Turlock.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, January 27 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Livingston.  Interment will follow at Winton Cemetery.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put His arms around you 

And whispered “Come to me.”

With tearful eyes we watched you as you slowly slipped away,

and though we loved you dearly, we couldn’t make you stay.

Your golden heart stopped beating, your tired hands put to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the best.
