Hugh was born in La Grange ,CA and passed in Hughson, CA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 yrs Barbara Bagley (Bobbi).

Hugh was one of ten children born to E.J. and Erin Bagley. He is survived by only one sister Nannette Miller of Augusta, GA. 

Hugh and Bobbi raised 6 children: Patrick Bagley 63 of OR, Deborah Ridley 60 of OR, Mitzi Routier 55 of UT, Krystal Russell 53 of CA, Gina Shaw 52 of CA, Darryl Bagley 51 of CA, 19 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

At the age of 19 Hugh hitchhiked to Seaside, CA where he met his beloved Bobbi. Between 1960-1976 he ran for Monterey County Sherriff and twice for Mayor of Seaside. 

In the late 70s he ran for Mayor of Phenix City, AL. In 1978 he settled in Keyes , CA. In 1982 he ran for Governor of CA. Hughs first presidential run came in 1984. In 1986 he ran again for Governor of CA this time earning 140,000 votes landing him in second place. He again ran for President in 1988 and 2008. After 50 yrs of campaigning he stated that he would only quit if he came in last, but he never did. 

Hugh was a familiar face at Turlock Poker

Room where he spent most of his spare time. Hugh may you enjoy being reunited with your Bobbi. 

Here you will greatly missed and never forgotten . A Celebration of Life will be held at Crane Park on E. Canal Dr in Turlock on Sunday, July 10th from 10am to 1pm. Friends are welcome to attend.
