Irene Lawton, 83, of Turlock, passed away at Brandel Manor after a short illness. She was born in Glenwood City, Wis. to George and Jenny Lacktorin. She was raised on a farm in Wisconsin and graduated from high school in Glenwood City. At age 23 she married Eugene Charles Johnson, who died in November 1958 after nine years of marriage. Ten years later she married Frank Lawton, who also preceded her in death in 1999.
During Irene’s working years she served as a nurse in multiple hospitals in the San Francisco Bay Area. She was also an active member in the Jenny Lind Vasa and a life member of the Eastern Star.
Irene is survived by two daughters, Renaye Johnson (Richard Dordan) of Clayton and Deborah Johnson (John Dougall) of Hayward; granddaughter, Ashley Dordan; and sister, Jeanette Parazino of White Bear Lake, Minn.
