Kathryn Lorraine Liles
March 1964 - Sept 2016

Kathryn Lorraine Liles, beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away unexpectedly in her home last week. Born March 2, 1964 in Castro Valley, CA, Kathryn never left the state and spent her adolescence in Fremont and Gustine. She loved to bowl, to dance, to sing, to laugh, to love, and to argue (she would tell you it’s just spirited debate). She was the most intelligent woman I ever knew; her mind operated a mile a minute and one never knew where conversations with her would end up.

In her career as an escrow officer, her intelligence, drive, hard work, and tenacity vaulted her to the top of her field. Kathryn worked so hard in order to provide her family with everything we could ever want and more.

Kathryn’s family was everything to her; being a mother was everything to her. She told me once that she really didn’t start living her life until her first child was born; my older brother, Brandon. As the years went by and her children grew, she told me that her sole purpose in life was to be a mother, to which I replied, “Maybe my purpose is to be your purpose”. She taught me fairness and equality; she taught me “It wasn’t my place to judge”.

My mom was the most kind-hearted, kindred spirit I ever had the pleasure of knowing. She joins her sister Carolyn Mendonca, brother Jimmy Scoggins, father Lee “Gene” Scoggins, and her best friend/cousin Jeff Richardson in the afterlife.

Kathryn leaves behind her husband Dewayne Liles; her children Brandon Liles, Brooke Liles, Brittany Faulkner, Kassidy Liles, and David Liles; her mother Betty Scoggins; her sister Susan Esty; her brother Gene Scoggins; 5 grandchildren and 10 nieces and nephews.  Kathryn will be missed tremendously.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the Turlock VFW Hall. Flowers may be delivered to the VFW Hall after 12 pm on Saturday.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com.
