Kenneth Doyle Oyer (Tuffy, Papason, Huhdad, Poppy)
June 12, 1947 - June 28, 2023

Kenneth Doyle Oyer of Turlock, California, husband of Jackie and dedicated father to Tiffani (Dean), Ty (Rebecca) and Tara (Scott) and grandfather to nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. 

With the marriage to Jackie, he embraced three more children, Leonard, Nathan (Christine), and Aaron.  

He has one brother, Ron in Renton, Washington.  

Ken passed away Wednesday, June 28th 2023. 

He was born in San Gabriel, California on June 12, 1947, moving to San Bernadino, California in 1952.  

He graduated from San Bernadino High School in 1965, San Bernadino Valley College in 1968 and Fresno State College in 1972. 

Ken excelled at both football and wrestling in high school and wrestled extensively while in college.  

He started a professional career with his own pool plastering business, Ken’s Pool Plastering.  

His specialty was custom color plastering, doing many custom pools in Northern California. 

He sold his business and became a teacher using the degree he earned at Fresno State. 

He taught in the Turlock School District at Roselawn High School and Julien Elementary. 

All the kids loved Mr. Oyer! He co-founded the elementary school walking club that grew over the years to include two elementary schools and hundreds of children. Many, many students, teachers and even parents joined in on the fun! 

One of the greatest passions was for he and Jackie to load the truck with supplies, hook up to his beloved dune buggy and head for the desert. 

Ken’s large persona, sincerity and love will greatly be missed by all.  greatly be missed by all.
