Lawrence George Soltero was born in Turlock to parents Jesus and Ruth Soltero in 1926.  He lived in Turlock all his life and held various jobs including working for the railroad and an ammunition company before settling at the City of Turlock, where he worked for 33 years. 
He and his wife, Evelyn, were married for 22 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a charter member of the Turlock Moose Lodge #1679 and enjoyed sharing his knowledge of airplanes with his family. 
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; stepdaughter, JoAnn Foster of Ceres; siblings, Rudy Soltero of Portland, Ore. and Luisa Ramirez of Fresno; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and five great
great grandchildren. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents; and stepson, Bill Mills. 
Viewing will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 18 Allen Mortuary, with Rosary to follow at 7 p.m.  Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 19 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial to follow.
