Lois Julius, 88, of Turlock passed away quietly in the arms of her best friend and husband, Tom Julius, with her family by her side.

 

Lois was born in San Francisco, CA. to Frank and Birdie Simmerley.  She was a descendant of the West and Simmerley families who were early settlers in California.

 

Lois along with her late husband, Tom, were lifelong orchardists in the Central Valley.  Lois was a long time employee of PG&E.  Lois was a lifetime member of the Turlock Steppin Pards, Ballico Senior Luncheon Club, Sunshine Club, Red Hat Society and a faithful member of the St. Francis Anglican Church of Turlock.

 

Lois and her loving husband of 66 years were members of the Turlock Pleasure Seekers RV Club.  Through their many travels, they traveled the US and Greece.

 

Lois is survived by her daughter, Toni Olson, and son in law, Norm Olson of Turlock, 2 granddaughters: Jill Olson and Robin Hernandez of Turlock, 6 great grandchildren, 5 great, great-grandchildren and 2 nieces.

 

Lois was preceded by her husband Brian “Tom” Julius, father Frank Simmerley and mother Birdie Simmerley, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

 

A memorial service will be held on November 8th, 2012 at 1:00 PM at the St. Francis Anglican Church of Turlock.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the St. Francis Memorial Fund, 915 E. Main Street, Turlock, CA 95380 or Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA, or The Alzheimer’s Association, Attn: Research, 1060 La Avenida Street, Mountain View, CA 94043.

 

Private interment will take place at a later date at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery.  Allen Mortuary is entrusted with the arrangements.
