Louis Eric Randall was born on January 4, 1962 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Raised in San Marino, CA, he graduated from San Marino High School in 1980. Hardworking and determined, Louis earned a Bachelor’s degree in Plant Science & Environmental Horticulture from UC Davis in 1985. He continued his education at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where he earned a Master’s of Science degree in Agricultural Education in 2000.
It was at UC Davis, during an enchanting lecture in Plant Anatomy, that Louis met the love of his life, Catherine Sirolle. They were married on March 28, 1987 at St. James Catholic Church in Davis, CA.
After earning his degree, Louis moved to Los Angeles where he taught for the LA Unified School District for 4 consecutive years. He then continued his career in Livingston, where he excelled as an Agricultural Instructor. He captivated students with his lectures and knowledge and made Ag Science and Floral Design compelling and intriguing classes for all his students. After devoting 26 years to Livingston High, he retired this last June.
In his spare time, Louis loved gardening and was active with his children in Boy Scouts. He was an avid member of the First Presbyterian Church in Turlock.
Louis passed away after a 10 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the Alexander Cohen Hospice House in Hughson, CA. He was 56 years old. He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Randall; sons, Austin Randall and Hunter Randall; daughter, Hayley (Erik) Storms; parents, William and Paulette Randall; brother, Robert (Linda) Randall, and many other loving family members and friends.
Services for Louis will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018. The interment will take place at 9:30 a.m. at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, followed by a Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 2619 N. Berkeley Ave., Turlock.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial scholarship to honor Louis will be set up at Livingston High School in the near future.
