Lucien Musso, 90, of Turlock, passed away in Turlock on Friday. He was born and raised in New York City to Anthony and Celestine Musso. He graduated from high school in New York City. As a young man, Lucien was a great athlete. He played baseball and football, but he achieved recognition as the New York State Overall Champion Bicycle Racer twice – in 1936 and again in 1939.
In 1947, Lucien married the love of his life, Mary Siderits. After their wedding they moved to California to build their future. They lived in Gilroy for 17 years where they built and operated a motel and a restaurant. They even entertained some famous Hollywood guests at their motel. In the 1960s they settled in Turlock and bought a ranch. They grew peaches and grapes on their ranch ever since then. Lucien was a hard working family man. He built his life around his wife and family and their faith in God.
Lucien is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Musso; children, Lucien R. Musso of Turlock, Mary  McCandless  (Kirk) of Turlock and Maureen  Nolte  (Tom) of  Cromberg; sister, Celeste Cutler of Salinas; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Services have been held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Lucien’s name be considered for the All Saints Catholic Church.
