Maria Bitbadal, 91, died May 27 at the Regional Medical Center of San Jose. She was born 1920, in Russia to the late Atanos and Ashley Bitbadal. As a young person she moved to Iran. In 1940, Maria came to America and married her husband, David Mooshabad. They settled in San Francisco 30 years ago and belonged to the Assyrian Church of the East in SF. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and traveling.
She is survived by her three children, Angel Josef of Redwood City, Irene Ishaya of San Jose and Edward Mooshabad of Turlock; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and sister, Zina Pourbenyamin of Iran.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway, Turlock.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 2 at the Assyrian Church of the East Mar Addai Parish in Turlock, with interment to follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
