Marion “Louise” Yettman, 88, of Turlock, passed away at Emanuel Medical Center after a long illness. Louise was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Henry and Clara Autrey. She attended schools in Oklahoma before the family moved to California when Louise was a teenager. When the family settled in Turlock Louise began her 55 year career as a cook. She cooked for the Turlock Cottage and Manjo’s Restaurants for many years. She was well known for her Roquefort and Thousand Island salad dressings. She worked hard and kept long hours as a cook but made time for knitting and for camping and fishing in order to be with her husband.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Henry “Junior” Autrey, and her husband Robert James Yettman in 1998. She is survived by two daughters: Carol (Dale) Owens of Ceres, Janice (Joe) Louro of Turlock, sister Elloweese Craig of Arkansas, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great, great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, Nov. 27th from 4 to 6 pm. A Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Nov. 29th, 10 am, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park with her husband Robert Yettman. Memorial gifts are welcomed for Sacred Heart School. Please leave memories and condolences at www.allenmortuary.com.
