Mary Ahlborn, 88, of Hughson, passed away in peace on Nov. 27 at the Alexander Hospice in Hughson. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 7 at Turlock Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd.
Mary was born in Shoshone, Idaho and later moved to California and graduated from Berkeley High in 1940. She met her long-time friend and lover, Martin “Marty” Ahlborn in San Francisco which prompted the love of her favorite song, “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” by Tony Bennett. They were wed in Reno in 1941. Mary was loved by all who met her and she loved all of her friends at the Turlock Country Club, where she enjoyed golf and bridge.
Mary leaves behind two sons, Richard and James Ahlborn of Turlock; grandson, Brian Ahlborn of Livermore; granddaughters, Christine Ahlborn of Modesto, Jenny Johnson of Livermore and Jazmin Aguila of Turlock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marty; and daughter, MaryAnn Fortson.
