Mike Anderson, 66, of Hilmar passed away at home with his family at his side on Tuesday, Nov. 16. He was born in Turlock to Simon and Verna Anderson in 1943, and lived in Hilmar all of his life. Mike owned and operated Mike’s Flying Service (later renamed Environmental Spraying Service) for over 30 years. He was a life member of the NRA and a member of Hilmar Grange, Hilmar Historical Society, Hilmar Chamber of Commerce, AOPA, and Western Heritage Museum. He also enjoyed attending cowboy poetry, Sons of San Joaquin, and doing woodworking. Mike will be greatly missed.

Mike is survived by his wife, Iris Anderson; children, Mike Anderson, Jr. and Matthew (Lucy) Anderson, both of Hilmar; siblings, Helen Healton, Carolyn Robinson and Tex Anderson; grandchildren, McKenzie, Taylor, Katelyn and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Anderson and Curtis Anderson.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22 at Allen Mortuary. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 23 at North Hilmar Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life service at 11:30 a.m. at Hilmar Covenant Church.
