A funeral service will be held for Nellie Solomon, of San Jose, at 11 a.m. on Sept. 11 at Whitehurst, Norton, and Dias Funeral Services, 286 West Main, in Turlock. She died Sept. 4 in Terrion Gardens in San Jose.
Nellie was born in Baghdad, Iraq. She was a seamstress for 60 years and a member of the Presbyterian Church of San Jose.
She is survived by her daughters, Margaret Sabala of San Jose, Judy Washington of Elk Grove and Jamie Cortes of Alameda; brother, Julius Benjamin of San Jose; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Solomon; brothers, Nelson Benjamin and Edison Benjamin; and sister, Serena Benjamin.
