Patrick John Trevethan, 47, of Santa Barbara, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1 after a courageous seven-month battle with cancer. He was born in San Jose and grew up in Carpinteria before moving to Turlock in 1981 to attend CSU Stanislaus and compete in track and cross country. Patrick received his bachelor of science in Political Science while pursuing a career in food and beverage, working for Saga, Marriott’s, and OB Sports. Patrick later earned a teaching credential in Culinary Arts and taught in the Turlock Unified School District for six years. Patrick enjoyed spending time with his children, fishing, ping-pong, and making others laugh.
He is survived by his children, Garrett Michael, Jonas Patrick and Kendall Mary; ex-wife, Dana Salles Trevethan of Turlock; and one aunt, four sisters, three brothers-in-law, four nieces, seven nephews, and two great-nephews, all of Santa Barbara. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Hill and Ronald Trevethan.
