Shirrell Dunkin, 69, of Modesto, passed away at Alexander Cohen Hospice House. Shirrell was born in Yuba City, CA to Fred and Maxine Camren. She attended Hart-Ransom School and graduated from Modesto High School. She worked as a Motel Manager for 18 years. She married John E. Dunkin in 2002. Shirrell loved to sew and she taught Sunday School at Modesto Freewill Baptist Church. She later attended Shelter Cove Community Church of Modesto. 

Shirrell was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband John Dunkin in 2009. She is survived by her brother Perry (Jan) Camren of Modesto. She will be buried with her beloved husband John at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at Santa Nella, CA. Memorial gifts are suggested for the Modesto Freewill Baptist Church, 225 E.
